Why code.d?
-
Most programmes emphasise going beyond systems and shortcuts. But in practice, much of the analysis still leads back to predefined frameworks.
These frameworks are widely accessible — and can be studied independently. Real expertise lies in knowing how to:
interpret what you see
adapt across different individuals
move beyond the system when needed
At code.d, we train you to analyse independently — using systems as tools, not conclusions.
Our approach also extends beyond traditional structures, including developments such as neutral makeup directions, which are often not addressed in conventional seasonal systems.
-
We do not rely on external certification as the primary marker of skill and do not position certification as the primary marker of skill.
Our focus is on:
clarity in decision-making
strength in analysis
the ability to deliver meaningful outcomes
Our work is grounded in real client behaviour and local context — which is ultimately why clients choose us.
-
We place strong emphasis on hands-on practice — because real skill is built through observation, application, and repetition, not theory alone.
Our training ensures that you are not only exposed to concepts, but are able to apply them confidently in real scenarios.
-
Being a skilled colour analyst is not the same as being an effective trainer. Our programme is led by practitioners with extensive real-world experience, ensuring both depth and clarity in teaching — not just technical knowledge, but the ability to communicate and guide others effectively.
Beyond technical analysis, strong judgement is shaped by a deeper understanding of personal style, the ability to work across different age groups and demographics, and a nuanced approach to makeup beyond colour alone. These factors play a critical role because accurate analysis is not just about identifying a colour palette — but knowing how it should be expressed on the individual.
-
Our approach is shaped through extensive exposure to different methodologies and practices — including those from Korea — allowing us to understand not just how systems work, but where they are limited.
This enables us to refine our own approach with intention, rather than follow any single system.
Most colour analysts are trained to follow systems and templates. We train you to think.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need any prior experience? No prior experience is required. The programme is structured to guide you from foundational understanding through to real application.
How is the schedule arranged?Sessions are typically conducted on weekdays and scheduled based on both cohort availability and existing studio bookings. Where possible, we aim to accommodate participants’ schedules. Weekend sessions may be arranged with sufficient advance notice and are subject to an additional fee. As sessions are kept intentionally small, scheduling is confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis. Earlier confirmation allows for greater flexibility in securing preferred timings. Participants are encouraged to reach out to check available slots, and we will advise on suitable scheduling options accordingly.
What certification will I receive? You will receive a certificate of completion issued by code.d upon fulfilling the programme requirements.
